Policegiri will be Sanjay Dutt’s first release as a lead actor, post his imprisonment. Hum Hain Rahi Car Ke was another movie where he had done a cameo. With Sanjay being absent, the responsibility of promoting the film has fallen completely on Prachi’s shoulders and she is trying her best to fill Sanjay’s shoes.

The irony is that while Sanjay will be serving his sentence behind bars in real life, on screen the actor will be playing a policeman in Policegiri along with Prachi Desai as his leading lady. “I am sure people would still go to the theatre to watch their favourite hero, irrespective of whether he goes to their city to promote the film or not. I believe in the love that people have for him,” says Prachi.

Prachi seems to be quite confident about the film and Sanjay’s fan following. Policegiri is the Hindi remake of the super hit Tamil film Saamy where Prachi plays a software engineer and a girl next door. “I am happy experimenting with my looks as an actor. With Policegiri, I have tried to portray a young and chirpy image,” she says. South film director KS Ravikumar is debuting in Bollywood with this film and the movie is slated to release in July.
