The very versatile and talented actor Manav Gohil, who has impressed
masses with his different roles over the years, is the new Yamraj in
town.
Yes, the handsome actor is all set to take viewers on a laughter ride
with comedy show Yam Hain Hum (Swastik Pictures) on SAB TV where he
will be seen as the funny Yam.
In candid chat with Tellychakkar.com, Manav speaks about his role, look and more.
“My character of Yamraj is very different from the way people usually assume. Everyone has a misconception that Yamraj is responsible for killing people and I want to break that myth. I am not a dangerous looking Yamraj who has a big moustache, a paunch and laughs out loudly. I am playing a very cool looking Yam who loves people and like to entertain.”

What made you to choose this show? “This will be my first comedy
venture. It is a great learning experience with Atulji (Parchure)
performing by my side. When this role was offered to me, I was doubtful
whether I could handle heavy costume, jewellery and still perform. But I
have taken it as a challenge and I see a tremendous growth in me
playing Yamraj.”
What if you meet Yamraj in real life? “Playing the role of Yamraj I have started believing that I am the real one (laughs).”
Do you miss your previous show The Buddy Project? “Yes, I do miss and
we all the buddies are still in touch. In fact they surprised me on my
birthday by getting a cake. I really miss all the fun and masti on the
sets.”
Epic channel is also coming up with a show on Yamraj, do you think
there will be a competition? “Yes, I met Rajesh Kumar and he told me
that he is playing Yamraj for Epic show. Matter of fact is that we both
are playing Yamraj on-screen but we have different shades to our
character.”
Did you work on yourself to play this role? “Not that much. My role
doesn’t demand pure Hindi language. The only thing I have to take care
is I don’t go overbroad or become too loud.”
What was your wife Shweta’s reaction when came to know about the role? “Shweta was very happy. She and my daughter like my new look. We both are the faces of SAB TV now and I am happy to be part of the SAB family.
