Barun Sobti turns Bengali cricket agent in 22 YARDS
While his first film MAIN AUR MR. RIGHT is in the post production
stage, actor Barun Sobti is gearing up for his second film titled 22
YARDS.
The movie is basically a comeback story of two people based on the
backdrop of cricket and thus will have an insight of the cricket world.
The working of the cricket biz will be revealed. Ron Sen played by Barun
Sobti and Shome Ray played by Amartya Ray are the two characters who
fight their way to sunshine.
In India cricket is a religion which binds everyone. The movie will
show the popular sport in a very different light. Cricket is not only
about controversies as portrayed today. The film rather showcases the
real, lived-in aspect of the industry.
Barun will play a Bengali cricket agent in the film with ace actor
Manoj Joshi as his rival. Barun is preparing hard for the movie and
studying the culture of Kolkata. Mitali Ghosal, who herself has worked
as a sports journalist for years has seen this world very closely, is
directing the film. The first schedule of the film got over in Kolkata
recently.
Barun Sobti gifts bandana to director and co-actor
After experimenting with the stylish piece of accessory himself, the actor is now making his friends fall for the style.
Barun Sobti just loves bandanas. The actor, who was constantly
spotted in bandanas while shooting on the sets of 22 Yards in Kolkata,
has now decided to pass on the craze to his near ones. Barun, who made
his way into the heart of millions of fans with his portrayal of Arnav
Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? has actually gifted the
stylish headgear to his director Mitali Ghoshal and co-star Amartya Ray.
"While we were doing workshops for the film, Barun — who always used to
sport one — gifted me a couple of colourful bandanas. I was initially
skeptical, but tried one on his request, and voila! It looked so good on
me. Then, I started sporting it regularly. Not only did it look good,
but it also kept the sweat away. He also taught Amartya to don one,"
said the director.
Amartya, Barun's young co-star, who plays a young cricketer, donned
the bandana that was gifted to him and posted a picture of himself on a
social networking site too.
Barun Sobti will be seen as sports agent Ron Sen in the movie.
Exclusive Pictures: Barun Sobti on the Sets of 22 Yards
Barun Sobti, who shot to fame with the television serial Iss Pyar Ko
Kya Naam Doon?, has recently begun pursuing his Bollywood career. The
actor has already completed shooting for his first film - Main Aur Mr
Right - which is due for release soon. However, even before its release,
he has moved onto his other project, 22 Yards, in which he plays the
role of cricket agent Ronajit Sen. We’ve got some exclusive pictures of
Barun on sets of this film, so make sure you check them out!
Here’s what Barun had previously told us about his character, Ronajit Sen:
“I’m playing a cricket agent in 22 Yards, and a lot of people –
including me – are not aware that cricket actually has agents. So
everything from what product is going to be endorsed on a cricketer’s
bat/jersey, to what player is going to be playing for which club, to
what endorsement is going to come out on the field, is all figured out
by a cricket agent. I’m playing one of those. There’s me and another
character, we’re going to be the two lead actors. There are a lot of
other substantial characters as well. It’s a nice script, going by the
fact that everyone the makers have approached and shared the script with
have gotten onboard. That goes to say how good the script is.”
He will be starring alongside Suzanna Mukherjee in this film
