Falguni and Shane Peacock unveiled their bridal collection at a fashion show held at the J W Marriot, Mumbai. Anusha Dandekar
did a great job of hosting the show. I was pleasantly surprised to see
long, flowy ghaghra cholis in pastel colours with subtle embellishments.
I think, as a bride, the last thing you want to be is loud and garish.
Selecting the finest net, chiffon and satin in antique crystal and gold
sheeting, the designers offered a perfect fusion of ethnic embroidery
with western silhouettes. Sarah Jane Dias was the
showstopper in an ivory coloured frilled tiered lehenga. While Sarah
looks great on the ramp and on screen, she doesn’t seem to photograph
very well.
Spotted: Pooja Bedi, Sophie Chaudhary, Anju Chulani, Nisha Jhaveri, Remu and Naaz Zaveri, Shama Sikander and Alex O Neil, Bikram Saluja, Alvira Agnihotri and Shauna Chauhan. While waiting for the show to start, we were treated to an exquisite wedding themed food buffet. There were cuisines from different parts of India, like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Marwar and also the conventional Italian, Chinese, Continental fare. The Indo-Western fusion extended to the food. It’s not every day you eat ‘khandvi’ on a toothpick from a glass. :)
