He whipped up interest among movie-goers with his recent cop acts in Murder 2 and Singham. His performance in the recent Ajay Devgn grosser, proved to be supremely fruitful for Sudhanshu Pandey… as he caught the discerning eye of South film aces.
Sudhanshu Pandey, famed for his squeaky clean acts in Hindi cinedom, found himself lavished with a negative portrayal in the Ajith starrer Billa 2, helmed by Chakri Toleti. Reportedly,it was his role in 'Singham' that impressed Toleti, swinging that cinematic deal in his favour.
Enacting Abbasi, a mature don in Billa 2, Pandey is thrilled to smithereens at sharing frames with South ace Ajith. For the uninitiated, Billa(1980) - the Tamil remake of Amitabh Bachchan's Don starring Rajinikanth- had bagged resounding success.
The sequel Billa (2007), illumining Ajith in the lead too had turned super-grosser. Presently, Ajith admirers are waiting with bated breath for Billa 2 to grace cinemas, to coincide with the Tamil New Year falling on April 13, 2012.
Sudhanshu, meanwhile, is all blissed out. "Working in Mumbai, you don't realise what a big star Ajith is in the South," declares the model-actor. "The kind of openings that his films get is phenomenal! Apart from Rajinikanth, Ajith is the only actor whose films get an opening that's at par with that of Rajinikanth's. Billa 2 was sold the day it was announced!"
Expressing his delight on working with the super ace, Sudhanshu states, "Given his star-status, Ajith is such a humble guy, that I was shocked, because surprised is too mild a term. He gelled well with everyone in the unit, be it a big actor or a spot boy. Ajith was so co-operative with everyone and extremely helpful as a co-actor. It was a sheer pleasure to work with him."
