JYP, YG, and SM are called the Big 3 not because of money, popularity or
power but because of what they've done and their influence in kpop.
It's why the Big 3 was almost the Big 4 with DSP. DSP kind of dropped
the ball early out with Kara. If the Big 3 was about money then
distributing companies like Loen would be up top.
JYP: You know
those songs with the repetitive ass chorus and catchy dances? That's
JYP's doing, he did that with Tell Me. He's also written some of the
most classic kpops songs ever. Adult Ceremony, Invitation, Honey, She
Was Pretty, It's Raining, To Mother Nobody, Again & Again,
Heartbeat, etc.
SM: H.O.T., S.E.S., Shinhwa, BoA, DBSK, Super Junior, SNSD. That is all.
YG:
That hip hop style that so many idols do was caused by them and then
somewhere down the line it got really ratchet which unfortunately also
got picked up by others. Seriously though, if you look back in time YG
stands out like a sore thumb.
Seriously there's been no dramatic change in kpop. The Big 3's not going to be replaced not until someone does that.
