Model-turned-actor Sudhanshu Pandey has landed himself the role
of a foreign-returned prince in Zee TV's "Jhansi Ki Rani".Sudhanshu will
essay the part of Yuvraj, the prince of the Moth province.
"Sudhanshu essays the role of a young man who returns from London after studying law there. He is suave, stylish...a man who has adapted the ways of the Britishers and finds himself at home in London rather than in his own country," a source said.
"As a lawyer, he will be seen involved in the trial of the great Mangal Pandey, fighting the case on behalf of the British," the source added.
The actor, who was earlier seen in "Dus Kahaniyaan" and "Saas, Bahu Aur Sensex", has donned smart coats and a hat for his role in the period drama. He is quite upbeat about his part.
"It's extremely fascinating to be a part of a period drama. And my character of a London-returned lawyer with a British hangover is rather intriguing. I personally enjoy the research and detailing that goes into planning the look, styling, diction and demeanour for such a role. I hope the audience appreciates my work," said Sudhanshu.
"Jhansi Ki Rani" is based on the life of Rani Lakshmibai, an odinary girl who went on to become an extraordinary ruler, and one of the leading warriors of India's first war of independence in 1857
