Plot
Kasamh Se is the story of three very different sisters. Bani
is the oldest, mature and responsible. Pia is the middle child, modern
and glamorous. Rano is the youngest, studious and intelligent. After
their father's death, the sisters go to Mumbai to live with the family of wealthy business tycoon, Jai Walia (Ram Kapoor). Bani falls in love with Jai's employee, Pushkar (Naman Shaw).
But Pushkar and Pia love each other, so Bani sacrifices her love for
the sake of her sister. Jai falls in love with Pia and proposes to her.
She agrees to marry him for his wealth. However, moments before the
wedding, Pia elopes with Pushkar. Jai's domineering sister Jigyasa
doesn't want the Walia family to be humiliated, so, she forces Bani to
take Pia's place as bride. Jai ends up marrying Bani, and though their
relationship gets off to a rocky start, with time, they become friends.
Jigyasa's unmarried daughter, Anu, has a boyfriend named Rohit and
she is expecting his child. Rohit's father has a condition: his son will
marry Anu only if Jigyasa's younger son Sahil marries Rohit's older
sister Rashi. The Walia family accepts this proposal, but Sahil and Rano
are in love; the two elope. Sahil's older brother Ranbir then agrees to
marry Rashi. Bani and Jai finally fall in love and consummate their relationship.[2]
Bani is expecting Jai's child. Pia, who has broken off with Pushkar,
gets interested in Jai again. When Jai goes on a business trip, Pia
drugs him; the two have a one-night-stand,
leaving Jai shaken up. Bani is attacked by a stranger and loses her
unborn child. When Jai returns, Bani confesses her love to him. Jai
becomes ecstatic and reunites with her. Pia tries to convince Bani that
Jai is having an extra-marital affair. On Bani's first wedding
anniversary, it is revealed that Pia is expecting Jai's child. Bani gets
a call that another man named Anupam Kapadia has come to the party. But
he is without an invitation. When Bani inquires with the couple, the
lady says that their names are Sagar and Vidya. Bani then begins to feel
that the second couple that was introduced to her by Jai, must be the
real Anupam Kapadia. They even perform a dance number for the second
time, at the end of which Pia begins to argue with them. Mrs. Kapadia
i.e Anita, allegates Anupam of having a relation with Pia. Pia tells him
that she is carrying his child. Anupam gets furious at her, for
spoiling his life and shoots Pia in her stomach. Jai is shocked and
holds Pia. Jai reveals that Pia is carrying his (Jai's) child and not
Anupam's. Bani appears there and overhears them and goes into a state of
shock. When she comes to her senses, she forgives Jai and Pia.
Ranbir starts caring for Rashi, whom he had initially disliked. But
she leaves him because she has a serious illness. Pia plans revenge
against Bani.[3]
Rano's husband Sahil gets killed. The family members then get Rano, who
has just given birth to a baby boy, married to Ranbir. Bani decides to
investigate the death of Sahil. Pia gives birth to a baby boy, whom she
names Veer. It is revealed that it was Pia who got Sahil killed. Pia
frames Bani for the murder and blackmails Jai, saying he can choose
between Bani getting 5 years in a mental asylum or life imprisonment.
Jai realizes that 5 years are better than a life sentence. Helpless, he
testifies in court that Bani is insane, thus sending her to mental
asylum. In the asylum, Bani delivers twin babies, but Jai takes them
away. Bani runs away from the asylum and becomes trapped in a wildfire.
Everybody assumes she has burnt to death. Jai is shocked and falls into
depression. In this depressed state, he gets married to Pia. Bani is
actually saved by a handsome stranger named Aparajit Deb, who gives her
shelter in his house.
5 Years Later
Jai has become unfeeling after losing his love. Pia and Jigyasa
frequent parties, nightclubs, discos and cinemas. Pia does not take care
of her son Veer or Bani's children. Rano hates Pia for what she has
done. Ranbir is now in love with Rano. Bani harbors a deep hatred and
anger for the Walia family for what they did to her. Jai and Bani's twin
kids, Atharva and Krishna, are now 5-year-olds. Deb knows everything
about Bani and transforms her into a strong, confident woman hellbent on
getting revenge. Bani changes her name to Durga and lives with Deb's
family. Deb is an equally angry and vengeful man, who has lost the love
of his life, Pallavi, and believes Jai is responsible. One day, Jai sees
Durga and instantly knows she is Bani. Pia joins hands with Jigyasa to
ruin Bani.
Bani regularly visits her children in school and Jai is ecstatic when
he sees her. This happiness is quickly crushed when Durga destroys the
Walia business. She feels unhappy, however, to see Jai in a helpless
state and realizes she still loves him. Deb falls in love with Durga.
Now caught in a love triangle, Durga reverts to her old self Bani, when
she learns that whatever Jai did was only to save her. Jai explains that
he was not responsible for what happened to Pallavi and Aparajit
leaves, satisfied. Bani throws Pia out of the house and Pia meets with
an accident, becoming paralyzed. Bani and Rano decides to help their
sister. Jai finds that he has lost all his property. To save Jai from
ruin, Bani goes to her hometown to arrange for money by getting her
house demolished. Rashi gets cured and returns home; Ranbir does not
know what to do. He decides to kill Rashi so that he can live peacefully
with Rano. Bani saves Rashi; Ranbir is sent to jail. Jigyasa swears to
take revenge on Bani.
Bani meets Daksh, a mentally unstable young man. He mysteriously
calms down whenever he sees Bani and has deep affection for her. Bani
finds out this is because she had an identical twin sister named
Anamika. When they were born, her mother gave Anamika to a childless
friend. Daksh and Anamika were in love but she died and since then, he
has been mentally unstable. Bani helps Daksh get better and they become
good friends. Bani's twin children are kidnapped and murdered. Bani is
thrown out after a misunderstanding caused by Jigyasa, who convinces Jai
that Bani has an affair with Daksh. Jai's aunt Billo Masi sides with
Bani and decides to leave the house with her. Bani decides to kill
herself but Maasi and Daksh save her, and it is found that she is
expecting a child. Bani decides to live for the sake of her daughter
Ganga. Jai gets married to his office secretary Meera so she can take
care of the children but does not love her.
Another 5 years later
Bani changes her name to Maithili and lives with Ganga in a small
town. They return to Mumbai and Bani and Jai come face-to-face but he
insults her. Bani takes up a job as a waitress; Jai bribes the manager
to get her fired. Ganga befriends Rashi's daughter Vidya, and starts
visiting the Walia family. Meera becomes friends with Bani and helps her
with money. One day, Ganga badly hurts herself and needs to be
hospitalized. But the hospital staff refuses to admit her without a cash
deposit. Bani helplessly goes to Jai's office and begs him for money.
Jai humiliates Bani but gives her the money. Jai finds out that Ganga is
his daughter. It is found that Ganga has cancer. Jai and Bani have to
reunite to cure Ganga. Bani returns to the Walia mansion, and Jai again
starts to love her.
When he learns that Bani never had an affair with Daksh, he begs her
forgiveness. Bani flatly rejects his proposal and leaves. Bani then
finds Pia, paralyzed, and it's revealed that Pia knows who killed
Atharva and Krishna. Daksh also finds out the identity of the killer
but, before he can reveal anything, he is murdered. Bani gives birth to
twins again, and names them Atharva and Krishna after her first two
children. She finds out that the killer of her children was Meera. Five
years ago, Meera got the Walia twins murdered because she wanted to
separate Bani from Jai, whom she wanted to marry. Meera beats Bani's
head against rocks and sets her on fire. Bani falls off a cliff into the
water below. Her newborn son Atharva, whom Meera had taken, gets lost
in the woods. Bani is assumed to be dead, which completely shatters Jai.
Bani has survived the ordeal. She is taken to the hospital and has
been badly burned, so she gets a new appearance after plastic surgery.
Bani awakens and finds that she has lost all her memory. The elderly man
who saved her adopts her as his daughter and names her Pronita. She
repeatedly sketches portraits of her old face but doesn't recognize it
as hers. She also has frequent flashbacks of Meera's attack on her.
16 years later
Sixteen years later, Jai and Bani's children are all grown up and the
Walia family still miss Bani. Pronita goes to the temple where she was
murdered and meets Jai Walia, though he doesn't recognize her because of
her different face. Pronita is invited to the Walia household, where
they are having a party to honor Bani. Rano and Pia are determined to
expose jigyasa , lending their support to Bani. They promise Bani to get
back her lost identity. Bani insist them to help her secretly. Jigyasa
insults Pronita(Bani) on her return which turns Pia feurious. For the
first time after 16 years, Pronita sees Meera and all her flashbacks
become clear. Her memory returns and she remembers everything from the
beginning when she and her sisters first arrived to the Walia family to
her attempted murder by Meera. Shocked and devastated, Pronita vows
revenge on Meera.
Pronita first tortures Meera mentally but Meera soon figures out that
Pronita is Bani herself. She attempts to kill Pronita the same way she
did 16 years ago. Just when she is on the verge of death, Pronita finds
her strength again and fights back. Right at the moment when Meera is
about to kill her, Jai arrives, realizing the truth, and sends Meera to
jail. Shocked and joyous at realizing that Pronita is Bani, he and Bani
reunite happily after 16 long years. Pia arrives with her husband
Pushkar and Rano arrives as well. After such a long time, the three
sisters come together. On Holi, the original Bani (Prachi Desai) makes a
special appearance as the entire Walia family celebrate and all ends
well on Kasamh Se.
