It’s
interesting how actor Sid Makkar hasn’t seen his own film Save Your Legs
till now. No wonder that he is so kicked about the film’s screening at
the upcoming Mumbai Film Festival.

The Australian bromantic cricket comedy premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival and has also been screened at the London Film Festival. “MAMI has grown to be a big, reputed festival over the years. SYL is under the international section and a few of my close colleagues will be watching it alongside. It is also my first film at MAMI,” says Sid.
The actor plays Tusshar Rai, a Bollywood star who has his own cricket team and battles the Aussies, on the field and off it.
Sid, who was also a part of another international feature The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, believes that international film festivals reach out to cinema lovers across the border and it can garner distribution deals overseas, which helps the film. “I love this exchange of ideas, cultures, commerce, and exposure and festivals do that well,” he adds.
Remember the very boy next door chap in Luck By Chance? He played the
role of an assistant director and Farhan Akhtar’s roomie in the movie.
The guy in demand is Sid Makkar, who made a huge leap from TV to films
swiftly and is also certainly making a wiser move by picking up
contemporary scripts. Not long ago his role was being talked about and
now the actor is seen in yet another offbeat film
In the recent release, “Straight’, Sid plays Vinay Pathak’s cousin Rajat , a very charming and believable NRI character. He surely livens up the character of a British- born, lead singer for a rock band in the movie. In the past, Sid has done cross over films like Postcard and Offshore, which won him international accolades too
Looks like its raining films for this dude. Sampurn Media
