The television industry’s one of the best vamp Ashwini, who is famous for playing Jigyasa in Kasam Se and Sasha in Shanti, says her character is "weird" and "unpredictable” in Afsar Bitiya, where she is performing a bad woman and involving in all illegal activities. She is called Sikka Thakuraine because instead of bindi she wears a sikka (coin) on her forehead. This weird passion stalks from her innate love for money, which makes her accept every possible means to earn it.
"This is not the first time I am playing a negative character but definitely the first time where I will be playing a tough yet comical don. I will be essaying the role of a quintessential village goon who is held in awe by all and sundry including the police, given her menacing reputation," Ashwini said in a statement.
"She is very weird and unpredictable. She will never call people by their first names rather refer to them as some animal of her choice. The only human side to this character is her relationship with her daughter who she dearly loves," she added.

Veteran actress Ashwini Kalsekar is a well-known face in both Bollywood and tellywood. She has executed every character outstandingly and terrifically on both the screens. She is best known to television audience for her role as the scheming aunty of Ekta Kapoor’s Kasam Se.
Last seen in her power packed performance in Zee TV’s Hitler Didi, here she is set to be back with the channel in yet another challenging role in Village Boy Productions’ Afsar Bitiya. Wherein, she plays the role of Sikka Thakaurain the lady who is known for all the illegal activities in Bhagampur.
She is presently in jail and will be getting released. Once she gets out, she will get to understand from her gang men that Krishna (Mitali Nag), the new BDO, has restricted their illegal activities by raiding most of their places. Sikka is angered by the developments, and she will decide to make Krishna’s life miserable.
The twist in the tale here will be that Sikka Thakurain is in a way related to Tun Tun Singh (Shahbaaz Khan) and Pintoo Singh (Kinshuk Mahajan). And with this development, Krishna’s personal as well as professional life is all set to take a beating.
