"It was a nice sundown party and we had gone there for a date. We didn't know it was a rave party," Shilpa told reporters in Mumbai on Monday.
The couple was caught in the raid late Sunday night at Oakwood Premier Hotel in Juhu along with nearly 100 others, including IPL players Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell.
"We were hardly there for 25 minutes and were sitting outside. There were journalists and scientists as well. We saw cops come into the hotel, and then we were sent for a medical examination," she said.
The actress, who was seen as Ganga in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, said they rarely went to parties.
"We went out together after a long time, and this is what happened. How are we supposed to differentiate which party is safe and which unsafe?" she said.
The couple was taken to a government hospital for blood samples to be extracted, but she was upset with the way the procedure took place.
"The cops were very supportive, but what hurt me the most was that the hospital staff was not. My blood sample was taken, but wasn't labelled for almost 45 minutes," she stated.
"I requested them to do so, as I didn't want my sample to be swapped, but they were very rude. I told them that if the labelling was not done properly, the results could land us in grave trouble," she added.
However, Shilpa was sure they would come out clean.
"There is no way my test can be positive," she said.
