Here Are Few List And Short Description About Our Woman Freedom Fighters of India Hope u'll Like It

Rani of Jhansi: Rani Lakshmi Bai was the queen of the princely state of Jhansi, which is located on the northern side of India. She was born to a Maharashtrian family at Kashi (now Varanasi) in the year 18 November 1835. She was one of the leading personalities in the National Uprising of 1857. Because of her never-say-die spirit, today she is an epitome of courage and her name is used as a metaphor for bravery!



Sarojoni Naidu: Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879, in a house of intellectuals, poets, philosophers and revolutionaries. Sarojini Naidu has been a beacon of inspiration to many women. At a time when women were oppressed to a large extent in many states, she was one of the first few women who stepped out and took the reins of leadership in her own hands. She was the first Indian woman to become the President of the Indian National Congress and the first woman to become the governor of a state in India. She was famously known as Bharatiya Kokila (The Nightingale of India).



Vijaylakshmi Pandit: Vijaylaxmi pandit she was born on Aug 18, 1900, Allahabad, India. She was the daughter of Motilal Nehru. She was a great fighter and took part in many of the freedom movements. In the year 1936, Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit was elected in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. Her political profession made her the first Women Cabinet Minister of India in the year 1937. Like her brother Jawaharlal Nehru, she too felt passionately for her country, her works are an inspiration to many young women.



Begum Hazrat Mahal: She was The Wife of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Hazrat Mahal was also known as the Begum of Avadh. She was one of the iconic freedom fighters of the National Uprising in 1857. When the mutiny began, she was one of the first freedom fighter who urged the rural folk to rise up against the British oppression. She seized control of Lucknow in association with the revolutionary forces and set up her son, Prince Birjis Qadr, as the King of Avadh. Hazrat Mahal worked in association with Nana Saheb but later escaped from Lucknow and joined the Maulvi of Faizabad in the attack on Shahjahanpur.



Kittur Rani Chennamma: she was one of the earliest Indian rulers who fought for freedom. She was the queen of the princely state of Kittur in Karnataka. She led an armed rebellion against the British in 1824, and lost her life in the end. Even today, she is revered as one of the bravest women in Karnataka.



Sucheta Kriplani: Sucheta Kriplani Was Born on June 25 1908. She was born in Ambala, Haryana to a Bengali family. Sucheta Mazumdar, was an Indian freedom fighter and politician in Uttar Pradesh, India. With the dedication and passion that she exuded for her country during the struggle, she was elected as the first woman Chief Minister of any Indian state. She stepped up for her country with the Quit India Movement and she was one of Gandhiji’s close associates in several Partition riots. She was a role model and encouraged many women to join the struggle. She Died in Dec 01 1974.
